Those who bought Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced lost access to the game after a Ubisoft server crash - pirates have no problem

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced was recently released not only on consoles but also on PC. Ubisoft used Denuvo for protection, and players learned that the "offline mode" is not entirely offline.

This weekend, a crash occurred, and users began experiencing problems accessing the Ubisoft Connect service. As a result, they simply lost the ability to launch the purchased remake of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. Users began complaining in the Steam community and leaving negative reviews, criticizing Ubisoft's policy regarding the PC version of the game.

However, Ubisoft stated in its FAQ that it would be possible to play offline:

A one-time internet connection is required to download the game. Once downloaded, the full main campaign of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is available to play offline. However, playing content related to the Animus Hub (store, anomalies, projects, vault) will require an internet connection.

It is noteworthy that Denuvo protection did not help preserve the PC version of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced. The game was not just cracked; a pirated version appeared shortly before the official release. But this is not yet a full-fledged "crack" — the protection was bypassed using a hypervisor.

Players are outraged that such DRM ultimately disadvantages those who actually bought the remake. Pirates are not dependent on Ubisoft servers and see no problems.
