Recently, gamers remembered Modnation Racers again. This is a combat racing game in the spirit of the Mario Kart franchise, which was released on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable consoles 16 years ago.

The reason was a publication by a developer under the nickname StormslayerDev. He spoke about the success in working on the "PC version" of Modnation Racers — the game runs at 60 FPS with 4K resolution support. Modders have restored all additional content and online features of the game.

StormslayerDev noted that this project had several crossovers with major PlayStation franchises and published several screenshots from the game:

Modnation Racers enjoyed a certain popularity on consoles, but in 2018 the project's servers were shut down. It could have become one of many games "stuck" on Sony consoles, as happened with Infamous, Resistance, and Bloodborne, but thanks to emulators, all these projects continue to live on PC.

Earlier it became known that Sony decided to close the PlayStation Store digital store on PS3 and PS Vita consoles.
