Developers continue to gradually improve the game.

Recently, Unknown Worlds Entertainment released a major update 1.1 for Subnautica 2. Now, the developers have introduced a small update, "Early Access Hotfix 4." It does not add new content but is designed to fix a number of technical issues.

The game will now crash less often, and currents will no longer appear at the player's base.

List of changes in the fourth hotfix for Subnautica 2

  • Fixed a bug that could block progress for some players.
  • Fixed an error that caused crashes on Xbox when accepting multiplayer invitations.
  • Eliminated a critical error related to creature spawning.
  • Fixed bugs that caused currents to appear at the player's base.
  • The FOV slider (field of view setting) is now correctly displayed on Xbox again.

The developers have not yet specified when they plan to release the next update for Subnautica 2. They warned that the update might cause issues with mods:

If you are playing Subnautica 2 with mods, temporarily disable, remove, or uninstall them before launching the game after installing the hotfix. Community mods may be incompatible with the latest version and cause crashes or other unforeseen issues upon launch. Once the authors update their mods, you can re-enable and install them.
