The KytyPS5 emulator has learned to run the GTA V menu and settings, giving players hope for a future launch of GTA VI on PC.

PS5 emulation has taken another step forward. The new version of KytyPS5 is already capable of running the main menu and settings of GTA V. Some players believe that such tools will one day help launch GTA 6 on PC even before the official release of the PC version.

KytyPS5 is still in the early stages of development. Update 0.0.2 added a new mechanism for translating shaders from PS5 to PC, support for the AGC driver, as well as improvements in audio and video. Thanks to this, new games can at least begin the launch process.

However, GTA V cannot yet be played through the emulator — the program only reaches the menu and individual settings. But for the community, this has become proof that development is moving faster than expected. Another project, SharpEmu, is developing in parallel and has managed to launch the Demon's Souls start screen.

Interest in PS5 emulation has grown after Sony's decision to stop releasing new games on physical media starting in January 2028. Some players view emulators as a way to retain access to purchased games in the future.

Most attention is drawn to GTA VI, which will initially be released only on consoles. However, a full-fledged PS5 emulator capable of running such a massive game will likely require many more years of work. KytyPS5's successes do not yet mean the imminent appearance of GTA VI on PC.
