Dragon's Dogma 2 Runs Surprisingly Well on Switch 2 - Capcom Didn't Expect Such a Level of Performance
Capcom is currently preparing the Dark Arisen Expansion for Dragon's Dogma 2. Along with it, the game will be released on a new platform.
Recently, during a conversation with Eurogamer, producer Naoto Oyama spoke about the game's performance on the Nintendo Switch 2 handheld console. According to him, it "exceeds" Capcom's expectations.
The developers worked on optimizing Dragon's Dogma 2 for Sony and Microsoft consoles, and the resulting solutions proved useful in creating the Switch 2 version:
The work we did on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions also benefits the Switch 2 version, and we are currently seeing a minimum performance of 30 FPS on this hardware, and in many scenes, even higher. There is still time until the game's release on this platform, but [performance] already exceeds our expectations on Switch 2, and I hope players will agree that we have once again done an excellent job of bringing the game to this platform.
At launch, players complained about Dragon's Dogma 2's optimization. The developers took the criticism into account and intend to release an update next month that should improve the project's technical state.
