Recently, a modder known as fromsoftserve, well-known to fans of FromSoftware games, announced the release of a new project. He presented a playable demo of an unofficial Demon's Souls remaster.
The original game was released on the PlayStation 3 console and a remake later appeared on PlayStation 5, but the project never officially made it to PC. However, now PC gamers can experience the Demon's Souls remaster.
fromsoftserve explained that he modifies the game's models so that they react to light sources (torches on walls, bonfires, etc.):
[The mod] improves armor rendering using cubemaps. Normals and specular maps have been added for most surfaces. Character and object shadows correctly blend with "baked" shadows.
To run the Demon's Souls remaster, you will need the RPCS3 emulator, which gamers use to play many other projects from the PlayStation library. The current version offers several tutorial segments and the ability to explore Boletaria.
fromsoftserve's project is aptly named "Demon's Souls PC Remaster" and has already been published for public access on Nexus Mods.
