The GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card with 12 GB of memory, first released in February 2021, is returning to the market. The manufacturer Palit introduced its updated version, the GeForce RTX 3060 Infinity 2 OC, effectively reviving a five-year-old model.
The reason for this decision could be the greater availability of GDDR6 memory amid the AI boom. The RTX 3060 has long been replaced by the more modern RTX 4060 and RTX 5060.
Palit positions the graphics card as a solution for 1080p gaming. It is equipped with 12 GB of GDDR6 and does not support DLSS Frame Generation — this technology only appeared in the RTX 40 and RTX 50 series. The company has not yet disclosed the price of the new product.
Although 12 GB of video memory remains an advantage in the budget segment, the RTX 5060 significantly outperforms the RTX 3060. Buying the old model is only justified if the price is substantially lower compared to the RTX 5060.
