Elden Ring hackers continue to "kill" saves - PC gamers criticize FromSoftware

News 0

Elden Ring has been on the market for several years. FromSoftware has released many updates and the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion for it, but the developers have not been able to fully solve the hacker problem.

Recently, an emotional post by a player named SpookyZachh went viral in the Elden Ring community. He was going through a difficult period in his life and decided to unwind by playing video games:

Dear ***** who ruined my save. Seriously, go to hell. The last couple of months have been, to put it mildly, ****** [very] tough. I was trying to figure out what to do to keep myself going, and then the other day I thought, "Not only have I not played FromSoftware games in a long time, but I haven't thought about Elden Ring in ages" - sounded like a great idea.

However, after a few hours, SpookyZachh encountered a hacker:

[...] I decided I could just summon someone to get through the dungeon faster. And what happens? Some *****, who clearly has nothing better to do with his life, breaks my game through a bug and ruins my save, and, as it turned out, there's no backup - only the one he corrupted. Thank you for that, *****.

Other Elden Ring fans supported the player. They noted that this problem is still relevant for other FromSoftware projects, such as Dark Souls.

The studio is currently preparing a new online project called The Duskbloods - it is currently announced only for Nintendo Switch 2 consoles.
