Fans of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake have been waiting for news about the project for several years. After its announcement in 2021, the game faced serious problems, changed developers, and disappeared from the information field for a long time. Now, one of the heads of Saber Interactive has mentioned the remake again.
Saber Interactive's new director, Steve Allison, answering community questions, said that he is preparing the studio for publishing plans for 2028. Among the projects, he mentioned Space Marine, "hopefully, KOTOR Remake," and several unannounced games.
It was the mention of 2028 that sparked heated discussions. Some fans decided that Allison might have accidentally hinted at an internal release window for the RPG remake. However, he did not directly state that the game would be released in 2028 – it could only be about projects that the company plans to work on or develop during that period.
At the same time, the statement itself is important for another reason. For the first time in a long while, a representative of Saber Interactive openly mentioned KOTOR Remake, meaning the project has not been canceled and is still in development.
