Microsoft Releases Major Xbox Update - 12 System Changes
Microsoft has released a major Xbox system update with 12 new features, including increasing gamertag length to 15 characters, updated interface personalization, and more.
Microsoft has released a major system update for all Xbox console owners, which was previously tested by participants in the Xbox Insider program. It includes 12 new features and a number of fixes.
One of the main changes is the increase in the maximum length of a unique gamertag from 12 to 15 characters. Personalization options have also been redesigned: the game library has a new poster view, it is now possible to hide unnecessary icons on tiles, manually enter HEX color codes, and automatically select a theme to match the avatar's color. Some settings, including light and dark themes, are now available without an internet connection.
Games can also be added to a wishlist directly from their pages before release, and it's now easier to find mutual friends in user profiles.
The update also improves the Xbox Accessories app, adds an Xbox Network status indicator to the home screen, enhances the clarity of Xbox 360 achievement icons, and fixes several bugs, including freezes in the games and apps section when installing updates. The update is already being automatically rolled out to all Xbox users.
