GTA VI Publisher Shares Project News - Take-Two Boss Writes Letter to Shareholders
Some gamers feared that the release of Grand Theft Auto VI would be postponed again.
The release of Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for November this year on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. Gamers have long been waiting for the promised summer marketing campaign, and some have already begun to express concerns that Rockstar Games might once again postpone the project's launch.
Against this backdrop, a letter to shareholders from the Take-Two boss emerged. Strauss Zelnick confirmed that the release of GTA VI is still scheduled for November 19:
We look to the future with enthusiasm and at the opportunities opening up – for our players, the company, and shareholders. Fiscal year 2027 could be a significant turning point for our company, defined by groundbreaking entertainment products – led by the planned November 19 release of Grand Theft Auto VI – as well as a high level of creative and operational execution and record net bookings.
Zelnick also noted in his letter to shareholders that the expected cash inflow will allow for franchise development, investment in technology, and enhances opportunities for mergers and acquisitions:
With a flexible balance sheet structure and expected operating cash flow exceeding $1 billion this fiscal year, we are in a favorable position to unlock the creative and commercial potential of our franchises, realize synergistic M&A opportunities, and invest in technologies that will enhance our creative capabilities and operational efficiency. We are extremely optimistic that these efforts will ensure continued success and long-term value for shareholders.
The release date for GTA VI on PC has not yet been announced. Some players hope that a PlayStation 5 emulator will allow them to play the new Rockstar Games title on PC sooner.
