Recently, Owlcat Games once again reminded players about the party-based cRPG Warhammer 40,000 Dark Heresy. This time, the developers invite the community to explore one of the character concepts.
The focus was on a former sinner. The developers did not explain how this arco-flagellant (or several) will be used in gameplay, but only provided a brief lore description:
Stripped of mind and name, the arco-flagellant bears his penance. A former sinner, now transformed into a tool of the Ecclesiarchy — he will earn forgiveness by enduring sacred agony.
The story of Warhammer 40,000 Dark Heresy will center on an Inquisitorial acolyte who travels and fights enemies with their companions, as well as investigates heresy. Some players believe that this concept might hint at one of the possible endings — it is speculated that the main character, an Inquisitor, could turn into a heretic and then face punishment.
