You can play the worst game of 2025 from an ex-GTA producer for free on Steam
Since its release, MindsEye has received numerous patches with improvements.
Last year, Build a Rocket Boy studio, founded by former Grand Theft Auto producer Leslie Benzies, introduced the action game MindsEye. The quality of the new release outraged many gamers, and the project received numerous negative reviews and low ratings. As a result, it topped the anti-rating – becoming the worst game of 2025 according to Metacritic.
Since then, the developers have released a series of patches and added new content. In July, they announced a "free weekend" promotion – inviting gamers to get acquainted with MindsEye:
This is a great opportunity to explore the city of Redrock on your own and see everything we've created since release. After completing the main storyline, the ARCADIA content creation tool unlocks a whole new way to play. Dive into races, 'survival' modes with waves of enemies, and custom missions – each with its own score-based progression system and leaderboards.
The MindsEye page on Steam is available at the following link. The free access period will last until July 20, 20:00 Moscow time. So far, no discount has been set for the main game and the extended edition. Since its release, the rating has improved: overall reviews are "mixed," and recent ones are "mostly positive."
