The shooter Spec Ops: The Line is being turned into a "Black Hawk Down"-style game - mod conversion shown

Some players haven't forgotten about the military shooter Spec Ops: The Line. The game's events unfolded in a ruined Dubai. The city was "buried" under a huge layer of sand, and a squad of soldiers was sent there for reconnaissance to check a mysterious radio signal.

Recently, modder YossarianAssyrian announced a story modification for Spec Ops: The Line called "Spec Ops: Black Hawk Down".

According to the plot, the events will take place in 1993 in Mogadishu (Somalia), where a civil war is raging. A Delta Force squad is sent to capture key targets. The mission was supposed to take no more than an hour, but the plan goes awry and the soldiers have to fight for survival.

The modification is positioned as a total conversion, inspired by the film of the same name, the game, and real events in Somalia.

YossarianAssyrian promises new models of soldiers with Delta Force uniforms from the "Gothic Serpent" operation era. Enemies will also have diverse models, which should reflect the "disparate nature of Somali armed groups".

New models and sounds are being created for weapons, and their characteristics will be changed. The soundtrack will also be replaced — tracks from Delta Force: Black Hawk Down and other games will be used.

The project page for Spec Ops: Black Hawk Down is already open on ModDb. YossarianAssyrian has not yet announced a release date.

Spec Ops: The Line itself has not been sold on Steam and other digital services for a long time.
