Cairn was released at the end of January 2026 and quickly gained popularity among players. Within two months of its release, the indie climbing game sold over 500,000 copies. After this, the developers announced that they would release a free expansion with new challenges in the summer.
However, on August 13, 2026, the DLC Cairn: On the Trail will not be released. The Game Bakers team admitted that, despite the game's success, they remain a small independent studio, and therefore the expansion requires additional time for refinement.
The developers have not yet announced a new release date.
