Recently, an anonymous source provided the blogger "Elbrus PC Test" with a driver for NVIDIA graphics cards, compiled specifically for Elbrus. This became possible thanks to source code leaks that occurred several years ago.
The author of the YouTube channel Dmitry Bachilo received this driver from an acquaintance and decided to test the performance of the RTX 2060 Super graphics card on a system with E2K architecture (the architecture of Elbrus processors).
Bachilo explained that due to architectural peculiarities, previously Elbrus processors could only fully work with AMD Radeon graphics cards, but with the advent of this special driver, everything changes — launching with RTX-series graphics cards went from "impossible" to reality.
Dmitry Bachilo also conducted gaming tests with updated AMD drivers and a Radeon RX 9070 XT graphics card. For example, in a modified version of Half-Life with RTX, it was possible to maintain 60 FPS at Full HD. In Quake II RTX, everything works "perfectly," and the ported version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt yielded 20-50+ FPS depending on the scene, but the game "stutters a little." Dmitry Bachilo admitted that this was his first time playing The Witcher.
