Handheld console manufacturers have recently been fond of delaying the announcement process for their devices. And, naturally, Ayaneo is no exception. Today it became known that they shared an exclusive image of the KONKR Pocket Advance with Retro Dodo portal.
In the image, the team for the first time showed the entire back panel of the device, as well as introduced a new color scheme. It clearly pays homage to the original Game Boy Advance color.
Of course, these are renders, and gamers have yet to see the product live. But it's nice to know that a choice of colors will be available at launch. The KONKR Pocket Advance is very similar to the GBA, of course, with some subtle design changes, such as a larger ventilation grille, downward-facing dual speakers, a headphone jack, a volume wheel, and a microSD card slot.
The image is likely blurred to hide technical specifications or product information on the sticker, but it gives an idea of the design and port layout.
Among other things, Ayaneo recently publicly shared images on its social media, providing a better look at the top of the device, the design of the shoulder buttons, and those iconic side “notches” that the GBA had.
It seems Ayaneo really wants the new product to look and feel like the original console for nostalgia. At the moment, neither specifications, nor price, nor release date have been announced.
