MagicX is developing the Mini Dream handheld console with a 3.3-inch custom display

In the future, MagicX plans to release the Mini Dream handheld console, so it's time to find out approximately how much it will cost, what the operating system situation is, and whether the new product will have a glass front panel.

Earlier this month, MagicX reached out to the community for feedback on the Mini40 handheld console and simultaneously announced the discontinuation of the Mini Zero 28. The developers then returned with another piece of news, this time introducing a "custom" 3.3-inch OLED display.

Today, the Mini Dream was officially "announced," which will most likely be MagicX's next handheld console. Besides confirming that the Mini Dream will use that same custom 3.3-inch display, only a few other details were provided.

The new product features a fully glass front panel, color-matched to the body. Both Linux and Android versions will be available. The price range for the MagicX Mini Dream: $80–$180 (6264–14094 rubles, excluding shipping).

Currently, this handheld console is still in the early stages of development. Unsurprisingly, MagicX has not shared technical specifications or even hinted at what processor might be used in the Mini Dream. However, a price spread of $100 (almost 8,000 rubles) seems a bit strange.

The wide price range, along with the mention of "both Linux and Android versions," seems to confirm that the Mini Dream will have at least two different models. This makes one wonder if MagicX is going to follow in Anbernic's footsteps by offering a cheaper Linux-only model and a more expensive Android model with different hardware.
