Boktor, a cooperative dungeon boss-battling board game, to be released in Russia

The cooperative dungeon-crawler Boktor, which uses meeples instead of miniatures, will be available in Russia. In this project, users will be able to fight bosses in a dungeon, experience a simultaneous party leveling system, and transform into various heroes.

Board Zeppelin publishing house announced that they will release the board game Boktor in Russia, which managed to raise 437,141 euros (38,845,879 rubles) on the crowdfunding platform Gamefound.

This is a cooperative dungeon-crawler where a group of up to six players must explore a dungeon to find and defeat the main boss. Each boss represents a separate difficulty level with its own unique features.

As they journey through the dungeon, heroes grow stronger, gaining new ability cards and unlocking more interesting combinations. One of the main features of the game is that the entire party develops simultaneously, and success directly depends on teamwork.

For example, one hero deals maximum damage if they are in the same cell as allies, so it's important for them to stay with the group. Another unlocks their full potential by staying away from enemies. A third, on the contrary, feels best in the thick of battle, and a fourth becomes more dangerous when their health approaches zero.

In addition to regular cards, there are abilities that can be played on another player's turn or even on an opponent's turn. This virtually eliminates downtime — players are constantly engaged in what's happening and follow the game.

The Board Zeppelin team really likes the concept of compact one-shot crawlers, where meeples are used instead of a scattering of miniatures, and games are fast-paced yet remain rich and memorable. The expansion, in turn, adds a large amount of new content, including vertical gameplay with trees, which introduces Tower Defense elements to the game.

The publisher will try to bring all game content, although decorative enhancements will likely be available in limited quantities.
