Many know the FromSoftware studio for games from the Dark Souls franchise, Elden Ring, and Bloodborne, but earlier it presented another project called Demon's Souls. It has not yet been released on PC.
However, PC gamers have the opportunity to play its improved version. Recently, a modder under the nickname fromsoftserve released a demo version of the Demon's Souls remaster. He continues to develop his project and has prepared update 0.5.0.
The tech enthusiast said that he added normal and specular maps for most surfaces to his remaster. In addition, shadows from the player's character and various objects will now correctly "blend" with baked shadows. Some models will now have more polygons, for example, on distant mountains.
Fromsoftserve's project received the telling name "Demon's Souls PC Remaster" and is already publicly available on Nexus Mods. An RPCS3 emulator is required to run it.
The first reviews of the remaster are very positive – the author is called a "legend". Work on the modification continues; the developer has not yet specified when the next update will be released.
