In July, Axolot Games studio released the full version of Scrap Mechanic 1.0. The project was presented in Steam's "early access" format back in early 2016.
The developers of the engineering sandbox introduced the Drilling Thunder add-on, which is designed to update the survival mode — players will be offered to explore new locations, experience a full story with voiced NPCs, use various building elements, encounter new enemies, and more.
The Scrap Mechanic page on Steam is available at the following link. Over the past reviews, the game has received "very positive" feedback — a rating of 92% after almost 120 thousand reviews. The description of update 1.0 can be found here.
One of the community members, under the nickname mekhvod, said that he managed to study and master a profession while the authors were working towards the 1.0 release:
I first encountered Scrap Mechanic in elementary school, and during all the time it was in early access, I managed to: pass VPR, buy Scrap Mechanic on Steam, pass OGE, finish school, enroll as a welder, get a job, get a welder's diploma (manual and partially mechanized welding (surfacing)) and see a post about the release of the second chapter on July 24. And now I don't even know if I need it anymore.
