In July, the developers of the life simulator The Sims 4 introduced a major technical update for PC, Mac, and consoles. It aims to fix various bugs, improve optimization, and the saving system.
An "autosave" feature is now available on all platforms. It will work in the background, automatically creating save points at key moments in the game. In the save settings, you can specify when autosave should occur: for example, after moving between lots, after a certain period of time, or during important events.
For those who prefer to save manually, there is a "save reminders" feature — a gnome will remind the player to save manually at a chosen frequency. According to the developers, these two features will help fans preserve their progress.
Previously, The Sims 4 introduced new festival notification toggles in the options menu. Now, "Northhaven Interest Meetings" have been added (can be disabled).
The implemented "memory optimization" improves how The Sims 4 handles memory during gameplay, which enhances smooth operation, reduces lag, improves frame rates and responsiveness, shortens loading times, and lowers the risk of memory-related crashes.
The developers also reported that after installing the current update with memory optimization, the bug with "corrupted lots in saves with many removable residences," which players had reported, no longer reproduced for them.
