The visuals are made in the spirit of the original modification.

Last year, Total Chaos was released on PC via Steam. This is a reimagining of the famous horror modification for the classic shooter DOOM II.

In July, Trigger Happy Interactive studio introduced an update for the game that "will bring it back to its DOOM II-era roots" — a special retro game mode became available:

Experience Fort Oasis in a new low-fi visual style, inspired by the original total conversion mod Total Chaos. Retro Mode includes pixelated post-processing, classic-style visuals, and monsters recreated from assets from the original DOOM II WAD. The modification transforms the island into a dark tribute to its origins.

In addition, players in Total Chaos got the opportunity to unlock a new, fifth ending — it will expand the story for those "who dare to complete the New Game+ epilogue."

Trigger Happy Interactive also improved navigation in the game world, save files will now display play time, and other improvements have been made to the game. A full description of the July update is available at the following link.
