Silent Hill f Writers Read Over 100 Books a Year During Development

News 2

Silent Hill f producer Motoyo Okamoto said that the game's writers “pushed each other” to read 100 to 200 books a year. This helped them better understand the style and characteristics of scenario writer Ryukishi07.

Speaking at the CEDEC2026 conference, Okamoto noted that before engaging a writer, the team must study most of their work.

This is not only a matter of basic respect, but also a way to understand that each author has their own strengths and weaknesses, as well as to understand their style and characteristics.

The producer also spoke about the return of the Silent Hill series. According to him, when Konami approved the revival of the franchise, about half of the development team were people in their 20s, and the old Team Silent lineup had almost completely changed.

I wanted people to feel that this was a serious attempt to revive the series, not just another remake that simply tests its popularity.

Silent Hill f received high praise for its 1960s Japan setting, atmosphere, and characters.
