It is already known that Capcom is preparing new content for Resident Evil Requiem. However, the developers are not rushing to reveal the details of the upcoming expansion.
The information void was filled by the specific insider Dusk Golem – his words were not always confirmed, but, for example, in the case of Resident Evil Requiem, he was right about the return of Leon Kennedy as a playable character.
According to his information, the expansion for Requiem is tentatively planned for release in late 2027. It seems it will be quite massive.
Recently, a Resident Evil producer explained Capcom's approach and the reason for frequent remakes of the franchise's games in an interview. Dusk Golem reacted to the news publication on this topic and stated that massive expansions are in the works:
Due to the lack of spin-offs, Capcom has a temporary solution – in recent months, they have decided to focus on creating large, multi-hour story DLC expansions for Resident Evil Requiem and Veronica, and possibly for future Resident Evil games, to fit this into the current production plan.
According to the insider, the expansion for the Resident Evil Veronica remake may be released "sometime in 2028" – also more than a year after the game's release.
