Bethesda Slashes Price of DOOM: The Dark Ages DLC Three Weeks After Release
Bethesda reduced the price of the Revelations expansion for DOOM: The Dark Ages by 50% and the base game by 67% just three weeks after the DLC's release.
Bethesda has significantly reduced the price of the first major expansion, Revelations, for DOOM: The Dark Ages. The DLC, released on July 7, received a 50% discount just three weeks after its release as part of the PlayStation Store's summer sale.
The expansion can now be purchased for $9.99 until August 13. Discounts also affected the game itself. The base version dropped by 67% to $23.09, while the Premium Edition, which includes Revelations, costs $32.99. When purchasing this edition, players also receive a digital artbook and a set of skins.
The publication notes that such a rapid price reduction may be due to DOOM: The Dark Ages performing below expectations.
Earlier reports indicated that id Software lost over 100 employees during recent Xbox layoffs. Former employees claim that the team has become a "support studio," while management denies this.
