Capcom published its financial report for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026, which ended on June 30. The company showed significant growth in revenue and profit, with game sales being the main driver of success.
The main hit was Resident Evil Requiem, which set a new series record. The game sold 8 million copies in 4 months after its release, becoming the fastest-selling installment in the franchise. For comparison, the Resident Evil 4 remake, which previously held this record, took about a year and a half to achieve the same result.
The new sci-fi franchise Pragmata also had a successful launch, selling over 2.5 million copies on consoles and PC.
Other company projects also showed good results. The announcement of a future expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds increased interest in the series, and sales of Devil May Cry 5 exceeded 14 million copies. Street Fighter 6 and other publisher's games also continue to grow.
As a result, Capcom's digital games division closed the quarter with sales of over 23.8 million games.
