After 9 months, Arc Raiders developers stopped "punishing" players for self-defense - matchmaking changed

News 0

In late July, Arc Raiders developers introduced a major update 1.39.0. They added new cosmetic content "Dweller Outfit", fixed balance, and more.

Previously, Embark Studios made changes to the matchmaking system. At that time, they weakened the influence of self-defense in PvP on matchmaking, and now they have studied community feedback and decided to try not to take "self-defense" into account in matchmaking anymore:

The most common request we received was to "completely exclude the influence of self-defense in PvP" — moving from "reduced weight" [degree of influence in matchmaking] to a complete absence of "weight". We have started testing this change. During testing, only the battles you choose to initiate yourself will affect your playstyle rating, and self-defense will no longer affect it at all. This also applies to knocking out opponents who attacked you first.

In addition, the developers talked about fixing various technical issues. For example, they eliminated a bug that could cause the game to crash on startup after the photosensitivity warning screen.
