Authors of Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era Show New Maps and Scenarios
The developers will bring back a classic map in an updated format and more.
In late July, the authors of Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era published a new diary dedicated to the future of the game. Unfrozen studio is preparing new content.
For example, the giant map “Mysterious Island” will appear, which original author Papyjama is making for Olden Era — it will be added to the game with the next major patch. Players can expect story events and a landscape that “challenges even after conquering most of the lands.”
Also in the works is the scenario “Prisoners”. The developers explained that this dynamic story map will tell the story of commanders lost in the forests. Players will be offered fast, engaging gameplay for those who “love to recruit new heroes in unconventional ways.” This scenario will be released soon after “Mysterious Island.”
In addition, it was announced that Olden Era will bring back a classic — “Rusty Alliance.” Players can expect an updated and visually improved map, which is already in the final stages of development and will appear in the game along with the “Prisoners” scenario:
First conquering the hearts of players back in “Heroes II” and gaining a new audience in “Heroes VI,” this beloved medium-sized map has one simple goal: to defeat the allies who turned against you. No plot or planned events — just the pure thrill of battle for land conquest!
Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era received “very positive” reviews on Steam, with an 87% rating after more than 20 thousand reviews.
The developers expect the game to spend about a year in “early access”, but the timing may be adjusted.
