Capcom continues to show record results, largely thanks to the PC market. According to the quarterly report, more than 60% of the Japanese publisher's game sales now come from computers.
The successes of Resident Evil Requiem and Pragmata also positively affected the company's value. Since July 23, Capcom shares on the Tokyo Stock Exchange have risen by more than 22% — from 3292 to 4116 yen per share.
Capcom President and COO Yoshikazu Shimauchi stated that Pragmata significantly exceeded the company's internal forecasts. According to him, the probability of a sequel is now very high. He also noted the game's successful marketing campaign and the warm reception of the heroine Diana.
Financial analyst Hideki Yasuda, in a comment to Bloomberg, called Capcom's quarterly sales, which exceeded 23.81 million copies, "stunning."
The result is simply stunning. I have never seen sales of over 20 million copies, even at the height of the Christmas season. You have to take your hat off to what Capcom has achieved during a period of the year that is usually considered a time of slower sales.
