The Ascent gets a second wind after 5 years. Developers are preparing a major update

The isometric RPG set in a cyberpunk world was released in 2021 on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, and PS5, and was also available on Game Pass. During this time, the game attracted over 12 million players.

In honor of the fifth anniversary of its release, Neon Giant announced that it is preparing updates. In November, The Ascent will receive a major Legacy Patch, which will fix issues with co-op teleportation, encounter systems, saves, player progression, add HDR support, and improve localization.

The developers admitted that the fixes should have been released earlier, but the small team was busy supporting the game and creating No Law.

Some of you are probably thinking, "Guys, you're five years late." We apologize for not being able to address everything sooner, but this opens a new chapter for Neon Giant and The Ascent. Thanks to Krafton's support, we have not only expanded the studio while continuing to work on No Law, but we are also pleased to announce that we have big plans for the entire franchise. The Ascent remains our foundation, and we intend to fix the game first before expanding to new platforms, genres, and future sequels.
