After the success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Sandfall Interactive is already working on a new project. Details are not yet available, but director Guillaume Broche spoke about the team's plans during an Epic Games Japan event in Yokohama.

According to Broche, it's too early to talk about the new game. However, the experience of creating Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 will form the basis of the next project. The developers want to maintain the enthusiasm with which they created their debut RPG and give themselves much more creative freedom.

Broche reminded that the development of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 took about six years. The game received critical acclaim, numerous awards, and was named "Game of the Year" at The Game Awards 2025.

"We want to start dreaming again" and "let our creativity run wild," Broche said, adding with a smile that the team intends to "be a little mischievous."

It is not yet known what Sandfall Interactive's new project will be or if it will be an RPG. After the success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, expectations for the French studio have significantly increased. The developers have made it clear that they want to experiment and create a more ambitious and unpredictable game.
