Capcom Revealed What Diana from Pragmata Could Have Been Like

News 0

During the Computer Entertainment Developers Conference 2026, character designer Kenji Irie and animator Serina Ohara explained that most games use so-called hair cards — flat textures that simulate hair. This approach was not suitable for Diana.

The developers decided to animate almost every strand individually. Approximately 430 thousand animation points were used for the hair movement, which significantly increased the production time and cost. At one point, the team even created a model of the heroine with short hair to assess the possibility of simplifying the work.

Ultimately, Capcom kept the long hairstyle, believing it better conveyed Diana's character. The decision was also explained by the plot: the heroine spent her entire life on the Moon, so regular visits to a hairdresser would have seemed implausible.

Currently, Pragmata sales exceed 2.5 million copies, and the success of the new franchise has increased the chances of a sequel.
