At Gen Con 2026, Cephalofair Games announced a tabletop card game with a drafting mechanic called Mercenaries Wanted, set in the Gloomhaven universe.
The project, designed for 1–6 players, will invite participants to take on the role of mercenary company leaders, who will hire fighters to complete dangerous contracts.
Players will need to carefully assemble their own squads and send them on missions to earn as much gold as possible. Between rounds, they will have to decide who to keep in the group, who to promote, and who to dismiss.
Participants will also compete in completing quests over several rounds before battling other mercenaries in a series of tournaments for the greatest fame and fortune.
Mercenaries Wanted features 61 mercenaries from tabletop games such as Gloomhaven, Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion, and Frosthaven. Each character has unique abilities, so it's important to try to draft them for a specific quest or two to maximize your earnings.
The recommended retail price for the game will be $25 (1981 rubles). Pre-orders will open in September, and the release is scheduled for December 4, 2026.
