This summer, The Indie Stone studio released a major update "Build 42.20.0" for Project Zomboid. It includes many map improvements and more.
Developers reworked many parts of the map, adding additional locations and buildings. Work was done to improve performance.
- Introduced two new challenge modes: Top of the World and 28 Minutes Later.
- Added "very large" trees – they will provide more resources.
- Optimized gamepad controls and fixed various bugs. For example, one bug prevented interaction with plants when playing with a gamepad.
- Improved anti-cheat system (in multiplayer).
The release of the update attracted the attention of many players, and Project Zomboid's online presence gradually increased. This weekend, it exceeded 103 thousand users. The previous record was set in 2022, when the online count was around 65 thousand players.
