Nolan's Film Breathes New Life into Assassin's Creed Odyssey

News 0

Film premieres often influence book sales, actor popularity, and interest in games with similar themes. Christopher Nolan's "Odyssey" became another example, as many players returned to explore Ancient Greece in Assassin's Creed Odyssey after its release.

According to Alinea Analytics, in the ten days following the film's premiere, the number of daily active users of Assassin's Creed Odyssey increased by 90%. Before the movie's release, about 122,000 people per day played the game on PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam, and then the figure rose to 233,000. The growth was even higher on consoles.

However, Nolan's film had a noticeably stronger impact on the return of old players than on new copy sales. This is explained by the fact that the Ubisoft game was released several years ago, has been part of sales multiple times, and was available by subscription. Therefore, many viewers simply remembered that they already owned a massive adventure set in the world of Ancient Greece.
