One of Titanfall's Main Authors Returns to Respawn - Fans Await Titanfall 3

Lead 3D Artist for Titanfall and 3D Art Director for Apex Legends, Ryan M. Lastimosa, has returned to Respawn Entertainment after a three-year hiatus.

Lastimosa wrote on X:

I am proud to announce that I am returning to Respawn Entertainment as the Art Director for the franchise. I am happy to be home again and working on a series that holds a special place in my heart. Let's get to it. See you on the Frontier, Legends!

Some fans interpreted the developer's return as a hint at Titanfall 3, though the phrase "See you on the Frontier, Legends!" more likely points to his work on Apex Legends. Earlier rumors circulated about a story-driven game in the Titanfall universe, but its development was reportedly canceled in 2023.

Lastimosa has extensive experience in the industry. In the early 2000s, he worked on visual effects and 3D models for the films "Batman Begins" and "I, Robot," and later joined Infinity Ward, where he contributed to the creation of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2.

He spent 13 years at Respawn, where he was involved in the design of Titanfall weapons, including the Spitfire MK2 machine gun, the Alternator submachine gun, the Charge Rifle, and the EVA-8 shotgun.

In 2023, the developer left the studio to found his own team, Sentinel Games. Now he has returned to Respawn.
