Modder added first-person 3D and VR game modes to Stardew Valley with adapted menu and controls

This summer, blogger GingasVR, who produces VR content, spoke about her ambitious modification for Stardew Valley. She decided to create a full-fledged mode for playing the game in virtual reality.

Now, after “months of work,” the Stardew 3DVR Mod project has become a reality. You can now play Stardew Valley in full 3D or VR — switching is done with “hotkeys” F5 / F8 (you can also return to 2D).

Because of how I implemented this mod, there will always be some visual oddities, but they won't harm your save, and the mod can be installed or uninstalled at any time […] This mod procedurally generates 3D voxels from 2D sprites, but expect strange visuals in some places. For the most part, these are compromise features, not bugs.

The modification “Stardew 3DVR - Play Stardew Valley in Full VR With Motion Controls” has already been published on Nexus Mods. GingasVR clarified that a couple of mods will also be required for it to work:

“SMAPI - Stardew Modding API” — a mod loader for Stardew Valley.
“Generic Mod Config Menu (GMCM)” — adds an interface for editing configuration parameters of other mods.

This GingasVR modification is compatible with “almost every mod on Nexus”.
