Ubisoft Closes NFT Strategy Game Champions Tactics - Unit Prices Reached $63,000 on the Market

News 0

This summer, Ubisoft Entertainment announced the upcoming closure of the free-to-play Champions Tactics Reforged. This blockchain strategy game with NFTs was launched several years ago.

The project didn't become a mega-hit, but it still managed to attract some audience attention: Steam's peak online reached 1.4 thousand users. Many players heard about Champions Tactics Reforged thanks to the unit (figure) market – the local "champions" were NFT items. They could be bought on the market for gold or cryptocurrency, or players could create their own characters in the Forge system, which also involved payments.

The cost of figures varied from $7 to $63,000 (a high price doesn't mean someone paid it – they just tried to sell at that price). More "modest" offers of $25,000 were also found, but typically the cost did not exceed $335.

Champions Tactics Reforged servers are planned to close on October 30, 2026. The game is no longer available in the Steam store, but those who have already added it to their library can still create collectible card sets in Valve's service.
