Did Microsoft get a cold shower on PS5? Halo: Campaign Evolved launched by few players - analyst

According to an analyst, on the day of its release, Halo: Campaign Evolved was launched on PS5 by only about 1% of active console users, which sharply contrasts with the game's success on Xbox.

Microsoft's return to releasing games exclusively on its own platforms and skipping competitor consoles for projects like Gears of War: E-Day came as a surprise. After all, not long ago, Microsoft's main games were successfully sold on Sony devices.

New data on the launch of Halo: Campaign Evolved on PS5 explains this decision. It turned out that the series received an extremely cold reception from console owners.

According to analyst Mat Piscatella, on the day of its release, the shooter remake was launched by only about 1% of active PS5 users. This prevented the game from climbing high in popularity rankings.

For comparison, on native Xbox consoles, the project became one of the most frequently launched games. Such a disparity shows that the series, which has been a symbol of the Microsoft platform for decades, did not generate much interest on PlayStation.

Halo: Campaign Evolved effectively failed to attract PS5 owners and did not achieve significant success there.
