No Longer Exclusive: Atomic Heart Released on PC via Steam in Russia, Kazakhstan, and Other CIS Countries
Some players deliberately postponed their purchase due to VK Play's exclusivity.
In early August 2026, Atomic Heart was released on Steam for Russia and CIS countries, including Kazakhstan. For over three years, the game for these regions on PC was exclusive to the VK Play service.
The developers stated that the Steam version of Atomic Heart is published by Focus Entertainment in partnership with Mundfish.
The cost of the base version of Atomic Heart on Russian Steam was 2499 rubles (in Kazakhstan – 16,990 tenge). The Gold Edition costs 3,199 rubles (24,990 tenge).
The Ultimate Edition, which includes all game content – story add-ons, cosmetic items, and a digital artbook – is sold for 2036 rubles (14,044 tenge).
Mundfish clarified that the Steam release does not mean Atomic Heart will be removed from VK Play – Astrum Entertainment remains the publisher on that service:
The game will continue to receive all relevant updates, and users will have access to discounts and full technical support. Since
Progress transfer from the VK Play version to Steam is not provided, as these versions operate independently of each other.
