Dying Light 2 Stay Human received a summer update - faster leveling and more difficult daytime survival
In early August, Techland studio released the “Summer of Enhancements (1.29)” update for Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition. It includes technical fixes and gameplay improvements.
The developers said that they increased the amount of experience gained for main quests and slightly for side quests, so that players can gain access to skills, such as sliding, faster:
This change improves the pace of progression and makes the first 10 hours more engaging, providing a richer and more diverse early game experience. With faster skill acquisition, players will be able to transition to endgame content sooner and start developing legend levels earlier.
The update also includes reworked lighting related to ultraviolet. This change affects all UV light sources on the map and in cutscenes:
We have subtly tuned the parameters of UV light sources in the game to improve visual integrity and better align them with the current color grading and material hues. In particular, the UV flashlight, both in-game and in cutscenes, has been changed from a pinkish-purple hue to a more subdued pale blue to better match the game's aesthetic.
In addition, changes affected the “Viral Rush - Fully Loaded” event — now Viral can attack at any time of the day. The probability of their appearance increases when shooting, hitting with weapons, and when Screamers make noise. Sometimes a special, more protected version of Viral will appear. The developers noted: “to facilitate survival, all firearms now have infinite ammunition.”
Techland also fixed several bugs related to localization and model display, and bugs that caused game crashes were fixed.
