Last month, Sony announced its decision to stop releasing physical game discs for PlayStation, which further increased the demand for emulators. Various PlayStation 5 projects continue to be gradually refined, and another technical achievement was recently announced.

YouTube channel author BrutalSam demonstrated how the SharpEmu emulator works with the Demon's Souls remake. The current version of the emulator already allows starting a “new game.” After that, players can even see the in-game interface: item menus and other details. However, full gameplay has not yet been reached.

Judging by the frame counter, the Demon's Souls remake on SharpEmu currently runs (depending on the scene) at a frequency of 0.4 to 8+ FPS.

Such reports of launching a game up to the menu or interface may seem like questionable achievements, but ShadPS4 wasn't built in a day either. Subsequently, this emulator was refined, and now players can not only run Bloodborne on PC but also further enhance the FromSoftware game with various modifications.
