The release of Marvel's Wolverine is approaching, and rating agencies are getting acquainted with the project. Recently, an entry in the ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board) database caught attention online.

It is reported that the new superhero game from Insomniac Games received an "M" rating (i.e., a mature game). Potential players are warned that the project contains: blood and gore, violence, partial nudity, and strong language.

A more detailed description indicates that players in Marvel's Wolverine will be able to see a character's bare buttocks – in several scenes:

Players use claws to slash, stab, and dismember enemies; a rage mode allows for faster and more destructive combos and slow-motion finishers (e.g., dramatically impaling an enemy's head with claws). Combat is accompanied by frequent blood splatters, screams of pain, and dismemberment/decapitation. Torsos and limbs are sometimes found on battlefields; cutscenes may also show blood and violent scenes (e.g., characters tearing enemies apart, beheading enemy soldiers). In several scenes, a character's bare buttocks are briefly shown.

The context of the "bare buttocks" demonstration is not yet clear. For example, the character might be without clothes, or their costume might be severely damaged at a certain point.

Marvel's Wolverine is expected to be released on September 15 for PlayStation 5.
