GTA V Players Believe They've Found a Reference to the GTA VI Map
The hunt for new developer "teasers" continues.
Since the creators of Grand Theft Auto VI haven't released new promotional materials, players are searching for possible "teasers" and other surprises from the developers. A few weeks ago, Rockstar Games released a major update, "The Kortz Center Heist," for GTA Online, which added a new heist and paintings to the game.
One of these paintings strongly reminded players of an image of the state of Leonida's map from Grand Theft Auto VI. This discovery excited fans of the studio, so they began looking for other "signals" from the developers.
Now, a user under the nickname JaneBunnFan has published another screenshot of a discovery in the Grand Theft Auto VI waiting community — there's a painting in the building with what some players believe is another reference to the map from the new installment of the GTA franchise. Allegedly, it's an overview: the main islands and the surrounding water.
One of the discussion participants, The_War_In_Me, noted that if the image is processed, it indeed resembles a fan-made GTA VI map:
If you zoom in on the image, crop it, rotate it approximately 200 degrees, and mirror it (which makes sense, as it's hanging on a wall — and mirrors are hung on walls), then it DEFINITELY resembles the shape created as part of the GTA VI map project.
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release in November of this year on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar Games has not yet specified a concrete release date or window for the PC version of the game.
