The open beta of Mortal Shell II received a warm reception. Players who tried the prologue on Xbox Series X|S and PC are leaving enthusiastic reviews. The game is receiving maximum ratings in the Microsoft Store and maintains a high rating on Steam, turning it into one of the most anticipated premieres of this summer.
Users particularly note significant progress compared to the first installment. According to them, the developers have gotten rid of previous performance issues and technical polish, focusing on a spectacular and “balanced” combat system.
The removal of the traditional stamina bar received special praise, making battles more dynamic.
One player noted:
The game doesn't feel excessively difficult. I would call it moderately demanding, and I really enjoyed that. The difficulty never felt artificial – most deaths were solely due to my own mistakes, so every victory brought immense satisfaction. The combat system is incredibly engaging, and one of my favorite design decisions was the complete absence of the need to monitor stamina. This makes battles feel natural, without constant worry about the stamina bar.
Successful tests have significantly fueled interest in the project. Many players have already stated that they will buy Mortal Shell II on release day, which is scheduled for August 20, 2026.
