CD Projekt RED created many main and side quests for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Recently, the creators of the Game Checklists service decided to check which quests players often complete and which they skip.

The researchers' sample includes data on playthroughs from 3 thousand players who tracked their progress using special tools, such as "The Witcher 3 quest tracker." The researchers noted that many players skipped certain quests.

For example, in the main storyline, players least often completed the quest A Final Kindness, and the researchers also highlighted three side quests:

  • "A Final Kindness" — 10.2% of players (main quest)
  • "Spirit of Freedom" — 10.5% (side quest)
  • "Unpaid Debt" — 11.1% (side quest)
  • "Reason of State" — 11.8% (side quest)

Skipping these quests is related to the special conditions for obtaining them. For example, for "A Final Kindness," Keira Metz must die, and for "Spirit of Freedom," you need to intervene to save a character from an attacking warrior. If the NPC dies, the quest will be blocked.

To access the quests "Unpaid Debt" and "Reason of State," players must first complete a chain of tasks.

According to the plot of "Unpaid Debt," Geralt will have the opportunity to repay a debt to Simun Zyablik, who helped him. And in "Reason of State," the main character can take part in a coup d'état.
