Broken Arrow strategy game about the confrontation between Russia and the USA received a major update with a new mode, spectator camera, and balance changes

Steel Balalaika and Slitherine recently released a major update for the real-time strategy game Broken Arrow. It added the highly requested "Spectator" mode and more to the game.

The developers reported that they improved game performance, enhanced server processing of gradual damage, and improved the logic for pre-checking server availability for the entire lobby.

In addition, various improvements were made to the interaction with the silhouettes of callable units: "now silhouettes can be dragged by their icons, and they, in turn, no longer interfere near the cursor when purchasing units."

A new "Conquest" mode has been added:

  • Captured control points now gradually accumulate conquest points.
  • The target point limit depends on the difference in the number of controlled objective points between teams.
  • The rule for scoring points for losses remained unchanged.
  • Compensation between phases has been removed.

Some other changes and improvements:

  • Added new variations of trigger and spawn locations for "Chernyakhovsk", "Jelgava", "Bay of Winds", and "Kaliningrad".
  • Added in-game chat during map and deck selection, as well as on the results screen after a match.
  • Added the ability to mute a player in in-game chat (also hides their markers).
  • Maximum camera height increased - [100 m]
  • Various balance adjustments.

Currently, the developers are working on the Broken Arrow: Russian Guard expansion, which will add a new "Rosgvardiya" specialization for the Russian faction, maps and additional scenarios, as well as other content to the game.
