Eric Baptizat has returned to Ubisoft as Game Director for the entire Assassin's Creed franchise after working on the Dead Space remake and Battlefield 6.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla director Eric Baptizat has returned to Ubisoft after leaving the company. He will now take on the role of Game Director for the Assassin's Creed franchise.

Jean Guesdon, Head of Assassin's Creed, announced his return on LinkedIn:

Happy to share some great news. After an incredible professional journey, including 16 years at Ubisoft and leading the creation of the critically acclaimed Dead Space remake at EA Motive, Eric Baptizat is returning to the Assassin's Creed family as our new Brand Game Director.

Guesdon also noted the developer's contribution to the series:

16 years at Ubisoft, significant contributions to Black Flag, Origins, and Valhalla as Game Director, his passion for gameplay creation, and deep connection to this franchise speak for themselves.

Baptizat left Ubisoft after the release of Valhalla and later worked on the Dead Space remake and Battlefield 6.

It is not yet known what changes he will bring to the series. Ubisoft has officially confirmed the development of only two new projects – Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe and Codename Jade. The former is considered the next major release for PC and consoles.
