Recently, Arrowhead Game Studios released a mysterious teaser for Helldivers 2. The video was titled "Face the Unknown" and showed a plush teddy bear in armor flying in open space. Then a mysterious hand reaches out to it.

Players believe that the Helldivers 2 developers are hinting at a new encounter with the Illuminates. The update is scheduled for release on August 12.

In addition, the Helldivers 2 developers published a new dev diary, in which they talked about plans to increase the maximum account level — the limit is intended to be raised from 150 to level 300:

Each time, increasing the maximum level was accompanied by the appearance of new ranks, titles, and reasons for pride for players who continued to fight: from the veterans of Malevelon Creek to the participants of the Battle for Super Earth and beyond. This time it will be the same: level 300 will be part of a major overhaul of the progression system. Along with it will come Galactic War Campaigns and personal progression paths in campaigns, which will give you new goals and rewards — even if the overall "Global Order" of the community is not fulfilled.

According to the developers, reaching level 300 in Helldivers 2 will take "twice as long" as level 150. They also noted that if a player has already reached level 150 at the time of the progression update's release and continued to play afterward, the accumulated experience will not disappear — the system will take it into account:

The game has saved all the experience you earned after reaching level 150 — even that which exceeded the current limit. Once the new limit comes into effect, the game will recalculate your total experience according to the new level table and instantly raise you to the corresponding level.
